When the question was first presented by Grace one of my first thoughts had to do with the interplay of wireless and fixed telephone system functions via IN. Intelligent Networking, through SS7 and SCP databases (service control points). By providing the correct instructions to IN, calls to wireless accounts could be forwarded to a wireline phone. Nothing new here. But it doesn't satisfy the desire to do away with a wireline loop, and for that reason I believe that it doesn't satisfy Grace's criteria. Because she wants to do away with wireline services and use the mobile PCS/Cellular, instead. And even if a fixed wireless link to the premises were used instead of a copper/fiber local loop, it would only be an in-kind substitution for the local loop, and it wouldn't afford mobility during other times.

For this, a fixed station wireless local loop makes more sense, but then you lose the flexibility afforded by mobility, and sometimes incur a premium charge for the privilege. Grace wants both worlds in one.

But it does appear that the involvement of IN is called for in the MD110 scheme, where a single number can resolve to either your mobile phone or your PBX extension. It's called a follow-me feature, I believe ;)
