Ted,

One fact about petroleum that is generally overlooked, is that it is the base product of plastics, medicines, paints, fertilizers and many chemicals.

We may be able to find alternative energy sources, but it will be very difficult to find a substitute for plastic.

Too bad Bushwacker is president. We need some real leadership now to reduce consumptive waste. Also too bad that so many (on this thread) feel like the problem is hopeless, and resist any ideas for change.
