Ted,

The so called "energy crises" could be solved overnight, if the State let's the power companies charge market rates. When people realize that their electric bill that used to be $100 will be $400, the energy consumption will drop immediately. And in summer when people use air conditioners, well, some people will think twice, some won't even be able to afford it even if they wanted it.

The whole thing about "implementing conservation measures" is something for academics to contemplate, but it will never go anywhere. If there are no $$$ in it, nobody will do it. What do you think will make someone to pay for the insulation in the house Scumbria used to live in? It will take money, monetary incentive, or should I say disincentive to do nothing. What do you think made people buy more fuel efficient cars?

It seems that the Democrats in California will do anything, but the obvious, and it's a lot of fun watching them squirm.

Joe
