In a machine that's expected to deal with mulitple processors on a shared memory bus? 8 900MHz CPUs sharing a single 100MHz memory bus? Ouch! I think I see a serious bottleneck here. Intel is extremely lucky AMD hasn't been able to ship its 266MHZ memory bus systems with point to point architecture. Intel dodged a bullet there, didn't they? If (looking unlikely, I suppose) AMD ever ships SMP Athlon systems, they will dramatically outperform Intel's old clunkers. Dan PS - what was up with those reports of quad processor Athlon systems at LinuxWorld? Those were just 2 dual processor boards in each rackmount unit, right? Or are the quads already in testing?
