Joseph; The new volume count rule on the nasdaq is "supposed" to
eliminate the double counting as stocks pass through the market
makers. Like it should start matching the way NYSE counts.

At first this will make overall naz volume look like it has fallen off but as
I don't expect it will happen with out some glitches & some stocks
which have many market makers may not have a smooth transition
to the new count so I expect some confusion at first.
---------------------
I have no doubt the markets are manipulated "at times"
with collusion among some of the large investment/bankers &
broker/dealers , but no one can get enough evidence to prove
conclusively just who and when it's done. That would take some
inside "rat" with an ax to grind to come forward and they all have
enough crap on one another taht it would be easy to discredit
any "rat" ; or nail them to a cross.
-------------------------------
Within an index you can look at stocks which have a large
market cap ( with a small float relative to the market cap )
to see how it works..AMGN is one in the NDX.
Before JPM merged it could move DJI in a heart beat..
the DJI works different than the other indexes as it's
so called price weighted , I haven't looked lately
but to find the stocks most that are easy to "skew" it
look at the price vs float..
---------------------------------
Most of the pension fund managers don't have a real
clue as to what is really going on; they are just
"mullets" for the hard core wall street salesman
to feed on.
Remember Orange County, well that kind of
crap is much more wide spread than wall street
wants the world to know..and the "mullets"
are not about to squawk , it takes a complete
default to bring one to the surface.
