I'm ashamed to say that I enjoy raw shellfish. I grew up on the New England coast, still live within sight of the sea, and some of my fondest memories are of being taken clamming (wearing my new clamdiggers, of course) by my grandfather and later helping him shuck them for the family. I was told clams are why hot sauce was invented. <g>

I've gotten pretty darn sick from eating shellfish this way. In fact, when I first met YYB, I was twelve hours into a bad bout of food poisoning after eating raw oysters in Mexico. It's a wonder she still talks to me.
