Right, we play the "Anticipatory Upswing" and leave the gambling to others. Occasionally we miss a big fish like NUFO but the ones we like are not in the public view (i.e. PKSI, CPKI, EFII, EMBT, ISSI, AUDC, PHSY, SLNK) the others we leave for AFTER earnings if the report is good. We also travel across sector like we just had health care, and Education sector (that one is not yet over) and will look at some HMO's that will be reporting as well as even small foreign companies like IIT for a daytrade if it looks good. Never chase those big caps thinking they are bottoming, they usually go into a 'pause' before continuing downside. When they recover they are only moving above minor resistance which becomes minor support and they usually drop back down from there.
