Joe Re..<<I just watched some talkshows, and apparently, regarding the "gifts" that Clinton kept, the story appears to be that they actually made a list of the stuff they want, and their "friends" bought the stuff for them.<
Joe, I agree, but I believe Hillary went even farther than that, in that Hillary had someone call her campaign contributors and tell them where to find the registry, and that they had to contribute before Hillary's swearing in in order to circumvent Senate rules against gifts. It went from a registry to a shakedown. There is also a difference between taking what one can use, and being piggish about it. Same with Bill's office. I don't know how big the average CEO's office is but I would bet that it isn't over 400 sq. ft. All the presidents gets is a nice office for him and his assistants, to get the papers ready for the presidential library etc. The tax payers aren't suppose to be funding an office so Bill can further his business interests. Congressman IsTook the other night said that congress provided the salaries for these assistants and was funded for $175,000/yr. At $30,000 per assistant, that would allow the hiring of 5 - 6 people, which should only require a 3 - 4000 sq. ft. office. What is Bill doing with the rest of the space. There is a difference between getting what you deserve and being a pig about it. |
