I have no reason to challenge that. My focus has been on the total number of ounces produced (near record) so I have not noticed that particular pattern. Eventually it will catch up with them, but the current situation could well go on for another year or two.

When I said that gold could go sideways for two-to-three years several years ago all the experts thought I was nuts, so predicting up to another two years sideways might seem insane. The only thing I have really learned in my decades in precious metals is:

If you are a bull and right - you are a hero,
If you are a bull and wrong - you are forgiven
If you are a bear, regardless if you are right or wrong - you are hated.

Unfortunately, I fall in the last category having been mostly bearish and right for the last five years. So be it. I missed all the rallies the experts told me were coming in 1997, 1998, 1999, 2000, etc .....
