Do you feel the deal YHOO signed with NOVL will aid them in achieving this "future" you predict? NOVL does the the content personalization/relationship software (eDirectory) and the online storage system (JustOn - which was the 2nd most used storage system for Napster) that fit nicely into the scenario you predict.

So it may be easier than you think to get to your "reality" with personalized content and access to an online storage "vault". Now with that login and personalization, I can access the storage data with any device not just a PC using a browser. So my PDA can interact with the storage space as well as my MP3 player, cell phone and other devices too. Adding a "quicksync" feature for any and all devices (a la FusionOne) would handle the problem of having disparate data entered into different devices and stored in a central location. From there, its a short step to creating shareable folders and sharable information (such as addressbooks and buddy lists and more).

The pieces are all starting to come to life - the thing is who is going to bundle them all together into an easy-to-use interface that allows me to leverage the many devices I use?
