That sounds interesting.

I'd somewhat adhere to stock price dynamics and therefore, often look at the weekly as well as monthly losers lists (provided as an automatically calculated hot list by qcharts).

I take out stocks trading in the middle third of the 50-stock list. Stocks which are on top of the list are often trounced by bad news and therefore not yet cold to touch them.
After sorting out those ones with small volume some remain for a 2nd look, often they snap back a bit if the market is friendly.

Many of our losers appeared on such lists. Best is to look there and look for those guys which are always in the middle of the list for some days.

I know that it is not very scientific but it helped as it remarkably reduced the number of candidates.
Hot lists on qcharts don't contain stocks with < 100k shares volume hence many are sorted out this way.
