Of course, with a frame-relay connection, you do have a single point of failure, as you are dependant on your backbone transport provider.

If you use an Internet connection, as the vast majority of us do, I STRONGLY urge you to go with a local ISP that has connections to multiple Internet backbones. At least then you eliminate the single point of failure once you get to your ISP. This is a case where bigger is not necessarily better. The big nation-wide ISPs try to use their own facilities as much as possible, and this means that you have less redundancy leading out of your local POP.

It's not uncommon for one of the big backbone providers to have an outage because somebody got a little rambunctious with a backhoe. :)
