I wrote the editor in chief of CNet. The table at the end of the article showed stock symbols for the companies mentioned in the article, including SUN (Sunoco) rather than SUNW (Sun Microsystems). He even labeled the information Sunoco!

DMF, at least he didn't call them PSUN, Pacific Sunwear!

Another problem with that article is they talk in terms of units rather than revenue. That makes Dell look better because they sell a lot of low end, low margin servers, compared with Sun, IBM and Compaq. I'm pretty sure that Compaq's Intel based servers grew in terms of revenue better than Dell's did in Q4. Absolutely, definitely in terms of profits as Dell is scorching the earth in low end these days.

But, you're right, sloppy reporting getting Sun Micro confused with Sunoco.
