ofdm-forum.com (2) Listened to BreezeCOM's conference call to see what their take was on the marketplace and the outlook for 2001 building out of 2000.
Conference Call: --------------- rd.yahoo.com*http%3a//tm%2eintervu%2enet/t emplate/smirror/ivtemplates/ccbn/2001/january/31/ipc-ccbn-brze-01312001-39664-rl -8%2eram
Of note: - Weakness / slowdown in their OEM agreement with Ericsson. - Announcing a major OEM deal related to MMDS in the next few weeks. - Revenue guidance remains at $150 million US - Lot of cash in the bank. - Geographically revenue in 2000 was 52% North America, 27% Europe, 12% Asia and 9% Latin America - In the 2.4 market their biggest competition is Cisco and Lucent. - In 3.5 GHz Wi-LAN is their biggest competition in Europe. - OFDM will find it's way into all their product lines eventually. Seemed very sold on the technology.
Wonder if they will time their PR with the February OFDM Forum meeting.
Interesting call

Congratulations to the Broadband Mobile Wireless Group!!
Santa Barbara, California --- The ITS-Radio Service (ITS-RS) proposal submitted by the OFDM Forum, originally initiated in 1996 by Caltrans-TCFI, has received the most votes from the ASTM_DSRC Writing Group members on Jan. 25th , 2001. This critical milestone was the result of a true international Government-Industry-Academia collaborative effort that has taken place over the last 2 years.
The vote took place at the UCSB-TCFI facility in recognition of TCFI's leading role in the ITS-RS (DSRC at 5.9 GHz). OFDM Forum member companies who played an active role in generating this proposal include Intersil, Acunia, Wi-LAN, California PATH and TCFI.
Ramez Gerges, Caltrans-TCFI Principal Engineer , and Dr. Raja Sengupta (PATH) have been selected to represent the OFDM Forum in setting the next decision selection criteria for the group.
