I don't know if I'm being a bit dense here, but if Zip File appears in the window at "registered file types" and it shows the extension as zip and the content as application/x-zip-compressed, doesn't it mean I have the Zip/Unzip program.

I have had this computer for 2 1/2 years, have downloaded a number of things, and have never had this happen. Also, there is a way to change the "approach" as the application used to perform action with, but I have no idea what to replace it with.
