Yea, that "one or two" higher speed Athlons in the next 10 days is great news. Maybe a 1.3 (200 FSB) and a 1.33 (266 FSB), though I'd love to see that 1.5.

One thing we haven't talked about for a while is whether Intel is able right now to bring out a 1.6 or 1.7 GHz P4. From circumstantial evidence it appears that the P4 is not yielding much above 1.5 GHz. Otherwise why would Intel bring out a 1.3 GHz chip and sell it for $150 less than they get for 1.4's and 1.5's?

And in case you didn't notice, there were NO P4 1.5's in the sales flyers last weekend, only 1.3's and 1.4's.

One other little known fact -- There is no Intel chipset that supports more than 512M of PC133. The SMP "GX" chipset supports 1G of SDRAM, but only at 100 MHz (PC100). Since this chipset doesn't support 133 FSB, you're limited to 800 MHz. IOW, if you want an Intel chipset workstation with a GIG of RAM, you are limited to 800 MHz or you have to buy RDRAM.
