Did you ever wonder why the Bush projection is for 10 years rather than 15 years or 20 years. The answer is that the leading edge of the baby boomer generation will become 65 in 2011 - exactly 10 years from now. When that happens, those budget surpluses or projected budget surpluses will disappear. If I were a member of the baby boomer generation (which I am not) I would be very worried about these projected tax cuts which might make it impossible to pay promised social security benefits.
