Excuse me, Doña, I misunderstood the header! I thought that you invited participation of those who agreed totally with the concept of unlimited choice only.
I support Roe v. Wade. I do not want it overturned. I wish the government would license, manufacture and give RU486 free to anyone who wants it. The same for birth control pills and condoms.
I agree that some are using PPB's to advance a broader agenda banning all abortions. I am not convinced that the only way to preserve a woman's right to choose is to oppose any and every conceivable limitation (no matter how reasonable it may be). In most cases, the argument used in favor of PPB is the same as "threatening the life of the mother." Banning PPB does not preclude late-term abortions "threatening the life of the mother." I know it doesn't happen often, maybe 1500 a year in the US, but it is too close to infanticide for me and the argument against banning it perilously close to the hysterical "logic" used by anti-abortion advocates.
I have friends, and family, who have made all of these difficult choices (decide to abort, give up for adoption, and carry to term). There were no "right" choices for one or "wrong" choices for another. I don't want others to lose that right, but I have a great deal of internal conflict when I consider these very late term abortions. Most of the time, I keep my mouth shut about that concern. I reserve the right to return to that policy ;-)
