Neocon,

Interesting, and thanks for the insight. I did detect a certain distaste for W, but I could not discern the origin.

As I said, I consider these people to be well above average and that is why I found their blind acceptance of Gore to be a mystery.

As for your illness, I am sorry to hear you have been sick so long. I was quite ill with the flu for about a month back in 1996. After several different antibiotics were tried and I didn't get better the doctor gave me something called Biaxin (I think that is correct). I was completely recovered in two days. Amazing. I found out that (at least at this time) they didn't like to prescribe this unless all others had failed. Hopefully you won't get ill again, but if you do then this may be an option.

I should add that I was quite angry that this doctor let me suffer through several treatments before he offered a cure. It was not the beginning of my distrust for doctors, but certainly another step in the confirmation of that belief.

See "Traffic" soon, I fear it will not be at the theater for very long. After seeing it I am certain that it is a "critics" movie and won't play to the "Rambo" crowd.

I am not a big fan of horror, so I usually avoid them all. Slasher flicks are of zero interest. An exception was made for "What Lies Beneath", as I really like the cast and several people I trust made positive comments about it. Its on video as of last week and I recommend it. It actually reminds me a bit of a rather famous movie from the 80's, but I will wait until you see it before I taint you with that observation. "What Lies Beneath" has a series of major twists, and I always score such movies higher on my relative scale; provided I am actually fooled. There is very little gore, but one fleeting image is one of the most haunting I can recall. Scared the hell out of me.
