Chris, thanks for the link describing different types of flash memory cards. The views may not be entirely accurate, however. In particular, the growing number of anecdotes on the compact flash card suggest that it is almost impossible to destroy, whether it is dumped in salt water, plowed into the mud by a tractor, or accidentally stepped on. Nor does the MemoryStick have a monopoly on other applications, such as finger prints. Given that flash memory is one of the most durable methods of storing data, the likelihood is that there will be more and more applications where reliability, compactness, low power requirements, and non-volatility of memory are essential. The application that particularly impresses me is the personal health information card. Art
