Infinilink ADSL Products Gain Nortel Networks Compatible Product Certification
dsl-ON(TM) Ready i200 and i500 Interoperable With Nortel's Universal Edge IMAS
IRVINE, Calif., Feb. 6 /PRNewswire/ -- Infinilink Corporation, a broadband technology provider focused on the rapid delivery of DSL, today announced that it's i200(TM) full rate ADSL modem and i500(TM) full rate ADSL router have been certified by Nortel Networks' (NYSE: NT - news) DSL Interoperability Program.
By receiving Nortel Networks Compatible Product certification, Infinilink's dsl-ON(TM) compatible i200 and i500 have been declared compatible with Nortel's Universal Edge IMAS (Intelligent Multiservice Access System) DSLAM.
``Like Infinilink's products, Nortel's DSLAM is known for its reliability, scalability and flexibility,'' said Ed Matsukane, vice president of research and development for Infinilink. ``Certification by Nortel allows us to get dsl-ON(TM) into the hands of LECs, cLECs and ISPs who have been desperate for a way to greatly reduce their truck rolls and technical support calls.''
Infinilink's patent-pending dsl-ON(TM) software can cut deployment costs more than 70% by eliminating the installation and configuration truck roll. With its ability to automatically configure the PC, network and CPE (customer premises equipment), dsl-ON(TM) also eliminates technical support calls and virtually removes the possibility for common installer errors. dsl-ON(TM) can configure a customer's DSL settings in less than one minute. This makes the software ideal not only for the initial installation of DSL, but also for customer upgrades and other changes to a client's settings.
``Nortel's Universal Edge IMAS delivers multiservice architecture and comprehensive QoS within a scalable format,'' said Matthew McRae, director of marketing for Infinilink. ``The certification of the i200 and i500, along with our dsl-ON(TM) software, will help providers deploy and configure DSL faster and easier.''
