"Is there any chance that we'll avoid having the next story about Grove, Barrett, Otellini, et. al., and their option exercises"

I don't think so.
The message is plain and clear: if a company top
executive is exercising and not _holding_ the stock
of his own company, in amounts of tens of millions $$,
it means that he/she has some better place to put
the money in. And this place is not his company.

Is it your contention to say that they need those
$60M-100M to buy groceries to support their
family's immediate needs, as a part of "their
overall compensation" and "routine option exercises?

What you are trying to tell in your message is:
"Don't worry guys, if Andy or Barrett won't
take chances and will immediately cash
out all options near expiration, there are way
too many fools over here who will continue to
sustain your current stock price".

Did I get your message correctly, John?
