Now look at that post there and think about it... is there anything in there that isn't obviously a distortion and flame bait??? I thought not...

Intel did indicate that there was no performance reason to go to copper at 0.18 micron. Intel is at 1.5GHz on their 0.18 micron process... AMD is at 1.2GHz... Looks like Intel was right... plus they saved a lot of cash by recycling the metal etchers for one more generation... Intel always indicated that copper would be required at 0.13 micron for electromigration issues.

Intel's business plan has always been to be able to manufacture cutting edge semiconductors on the highest-performance, high-yield, high-volume manufacturing process possible. I'd say the jury is out on some of their recent design decisions, but clearly Intel's ability to develop advanced manufacturing processes is top notch...
