Hi all; Re RDRAM vs DDR availability...

As of today, there are 7 pages of 256MB RIMMs available on pricewatch. 8 pages of 128MB and 4 pages of 64MB RIMMs.

For DDR, there are 4 pages of 256MB, 4 pages of 128MB, and 1 page of 64MB.

The overall total ratio is 19 pages of RDRAM to 9 pages of DDR. This is quite remarkable given that DDR has only been available for about 3 months. In addition, pricing on DDR is considerably below that of RDRAM:

Size DDR RDRAM
256MB $128 $407
128MB 68 129
64MB 43 59

DDR has already dropped well below the high, niche market, pricing of RDRAM.

As far as "what Gigabyte" is doing, why not look at their website? In their list of new products they have three DDR motherboards (GA-7DX, GA-7DXC, GA-6RX), but only one RDRAM motherboards (GA-8TX):
www2.gigabyte.com.tw

DDR is here. RDRAM is dead.
