Remember the no. 1 rule of government is once you give it away you have h*ll taking it back. This especially rings true for entitlements.
They might be able to raise the age of eligiblity for SS but that's tenuous at best. Most likely it will collapse in about 15 years...as the younger generation refuses to pay.
The other big problem will be finding the money for all the pensions and benefits various forms of government are promising workers...all to be paid via taxpayer money...
All competing against the private sector.
