Up we go!! scend Communication Sees Closing Of Cascade Buy In June Dow Jones News Service ~ June 4, 1997 ~ 3:44 pm EST NEW YORK (Dow Jones)--Ascend Communications Inc.'s (ASND) ''best guess'' is that it will complete its acquisition of Cascade Communications Corp. (CSCC) this month. There should not be any significant change in Ascend's operating model following the acquisition since the companies have similar models, Bernie Schneider, vice president of strategic business development, said at the PaineWebber Aggressive Growth & Technology Conference here. Ascend continues to see strong, broad-based demand, Schneider said. The company is seeing consistent growth in all areas, including Europe, he added. Ascend believes its acquisition of Cascade will be successful as the companies have similar cultures, common visions of market opportunity and complimentary product lines, Schneider said.
