Bob did a terrific job and will be missed. While we aren't, he is clearly better off elsewhere. The peculiar aspect of all this is not Naveen deciding to basically exit the consumer business, but rather than prettying up the package to sell to a new owner, deciding to gut the heart and soul of SI and allow the place to degenerate into another food fight chat board. Personally, I thought it odd at the time when I converted from a paying subscriber into a free lifetime member... didn't argue of course, but that was probably the exact wrong thing to do in the face of soon to be declining ad dollars on message board sites. Ad CPM's for time out of mind have always been generally higher in paid subscription media than free media. So, losing SI Bob, which I suspect is only the second shoe to drop (first being adios Fleck - my daily sanity check), is proof positive of the old adage about no free lunch. I hope INSP sells the property rather than degrading it.
