TechTV Chooses Accom AFFINITY NLE

MENLO PARK, Calif., Feb 6, 2001 /PRNewswire via COMTEX/ -- Accom(R) (OTC Bulletin Board: ACMM chart, msgs),
today announced that TechTV, producers of the on-air and online network dedicated to the digital lifestyle, have purchased
seven AFFINITY(TM) nonlinear editing (NLE) systems.

TechTV, on in over 20 million homes nationwide and distributed to 70 countries around the world, produces shows that help
viewers improve their computer knowledge and participate more fully in the digital age. Via television, TechTV introduces new
users to the ways computers, the Internet and other digital wonders can help them at work and at home.

In all, seven existing edit suites are being upgraded to AFFINITY and with two suites already completed, TechTV has used the
AFFINITYs to edit programming that aired during the recent Computer Electronics Show in Las Vegas.

"Over the last year we've spent a considerable amount of time testing and evaluating all of the solutions available to us. But after
looking around, it became apparent that AFFINITY was the clear choice," said Nick Yardley, Senior Video Editor for
TechTV. "We are long time Sphere users, but we were ready to make a change. However, AFFINITY's easy interface, the
ability to use video in a variety of formats, including uncompressed, its frame based DVE, giving us cleaner looking graphics,
the RGB color corrector and the four channels of discreet audio, made it a no brainer. We have to turn around a lot of material
in a short amount of time and with other systems we just couldn't do as much real time rendering."

"AFFINITY is really fast and easy to work with," continued Yardley. "Last week we knocked out our first half hour program
on AFFINITY in just one day -- and after only two days of training. We're using AFFINITY for promos and interstitials, long
form and short form work and everything in between. The engineering and support staff at Accom are outstanding. Accom has
good people working on AFFINITY and it will be an important contributor to TechTV's development," concluded Yardley.

AFFINITY is a powerful high-end editing system with real-time video and key on background and overlay tracks, real time
titles, Abekas (R)-powered frame-based Dveous(R) warps, lighting and textures, 100 layer single-pass compositing with
interactive full-motion alpha keys. With files stored in native QuickTime(TM) format, providing seamless interchange with all
leading graphics and effects applications, and unprecedented low storage costs, including a SAN option, AFFINITY offers
greater power, flexibility and value than any other non-linear editing system.
