I've received a number of PMs from folks expressing concern that we might lose our board due to problems that are surfacing at INSP/SI. Let me reassure you that no matter what direction SI takes, we will not allow their problems to affect our G&K community!

I have been in contact with upper management at INSP, and they claim to regard SI as a very valuable asset. I advised them that it could be a rapidly depreciating one if they don't take steps to stabilize a very nervous membership. I do not think they would shut down the site in any case, though; if they are unable to support it, I assume they will try to sell it.

But since I could be wrong <gg>, we have made plans for an alternate G&K site, which I have designated as the G&K bomb shelter, to be held in reserve until SI becomes unusable. Moving would be a drastic step, since a major part of our success has been the ease of access to information and expertise on neighboring SI threads, so I am very much against an exodus at this point. If one is called for, destination information will be clearly posted on Fred Manzo's Marvellous FAQ, which is being maintained at (bookmark this!):

Feel free to contact me publicly or privately if you have any concerns. For the moment, however, I think it should be business as usual and hope for the best. But be reassured that we do have a backup plan.
