A few years ago Intel regularly corrected 10-15% and there wasn't much alarm--or so it seemed. I guess the Internet era has greatly facilitated the emotional flow, as well as the flow of information/misinformation. :-)

A few years ago I was also in the thick of the corporate inferno--14 hours day and never looked at stock prices much--but my overall stock performance (having the same general profile of holdings) didn't seem to be that much less. Thus I am convinced that my close watching of the market is more of a self indulgence (being a net junkie) rather than a necessity.
