Sharon seems to have been elected, presumably to bring 'stability and security' to Israel... dailynews.yahoo.com Somehow, I can't see the ME being brought to peace by having an unrepentant Zionist keen to see lebensraum* carved out of its neighbours. And I use that term with every bitterly ironical overtone. Meanwhile, can anyone think of an Israeli leader more likely to convince the Palestinians - and especially their own most extreme elements - that they have absolutely nothing* left to lose? <ot> Poet, I think I fit at least a US definition of left-wing...
