Poet, Well, I hope I can avoid starting unwelcome arguments. I'd name a few character references but I wouldn't want to cause blushes - or worse, evasions...
As to the L in LWP, the US Democrats are positioned slightly centre-right by European standards; while I'm informed and (but?) green-tinged centre-left... I can vouch for being called a socialist by those who don't know what it means, and a liberal by those who think that's an insult, if that helps <g>
As for lebensraum - literally living space - that was the term used by Nazi Germany, for what they saw as Germany's historic territory and necessary possession for their 'own' people to expand into. The untermensch living there already - Czechs and Poles mainly, also Hungarians, Slavs, Danes, French, and especially Jews, Gipsies and other such foreign peoples - were not worthy of consideration, had no such historic claim to the land (like having lived there for 2000+ years previously) and so could be most easily 'removed'. By force, and without qualms. Because after all, the Germans were the Chosen People, given their land by divine right.
Stop me if you feel the similarities too unsubtle.
BTW, what gave away my nationality? I'm sure I didn't spell humour with a u that time! |
