minimal? Your definition of minimal and mine must be a lot different... that part of the report shocks me - pesticide problems, over usage of the natural water supply.. greater area affected then claimed.. its appalling

Bottom line tho: you still need to run a pipeline thru Canada.. definitely for the natural gas - if not the oil.. and with considerable opposition to it.. from the territorial local government bordering Alaska, the Inuit and Native Indian bands, plus the federal guys all saying they oppose it, and from what I have seen - Canadians in general.. there isnt much sense in building something up there when it cant get to where it needs to go.

Also look for the Inuit bands to take their case to the United Nations and make a big case about their livelihood and way of life being threatened with extinction.. nothing like a little world wide press scrutiny to make the oil interests and the Republicans a tad uncofmfortable... I predict that there will not be enough support to let this boondoggle go thru
