Yahoo is experimenting with their pricing. Two new options are 1) free if you only pay participating billers and 2) a price point between the existing $2 and $7 plans.

While I'm here, I'll make the comment that I'm currently using the $2 plan, but I don't make many payments. If the biller supports paying at their web-site I usually do that because I avoid the .40 payment fee. Many have made an argument that it's a hassle to go to many sites to pay your bills, but hey - I'm still sitting at my computer! I think centralized notification is key.

But I will be cancelling the $2 yahoo plan and using the $4.95 BofA plan because:
1) Yahoo is under my personal account - My wife doesn't want to log in there to see bills. BofA works more like our mailbox - we can both log in.
2) BofA has my current balance and transactions as of the previous night's postings. Let's me play it a little closer to the minimum balance needed to avoid charges.

Yahoo! Bill Pay wants to inform you of two new bill-payment
service plans that we recently introduced. If you are
satisfied with your current plan, you do not need to do
anything and no changes will be made to your current plan.

Here are the two new service plans:

1. PAY ANYONE FOR $4.95
This offers the same service as the $2 or $7 plan you are
currently using -- it is only a pricing change, which may
or may not benefit you depending on the number of payments
you usually make. Twelve payments per month are included
($0.40 for each additional payment over twelve). If you are
interested in switching to this service plan, go to your Bill
Pay Account Info page and select the $4.95 option.

2. FREE BILL PAY OPTION
Make unlimited payments free of charge only to the 120+
participating billers, including AT&T, American Express,
Mastercard, Verizon, Visa and many others. Although this
service does not offer the ?pay anyone? functionality that
you enjoy today, it is a great way for some of your friends
and family who have not yet tried viewing and paying their
bills online to get started!

IMPORTANT NOTE: If you would like to switch to this free
service plan, you will need to first cancel your existing
service by going to your Bill Pay Account Info page and
selecting the ?discontinue service? option. Please note that
when you cancel your bill pay service, all of your scheduled
payments will be canceled, along with your payee and payment
history information.
