I suspected we were closer together on this discussion of hammers than farther apart. Your definition, some might call it a preference, is for a particular two day setup that, if you want to be long, hopefully 'confirms' by moving higher than the hammer high the next day.

I absolutely agree that the more negative sentiment, the more violent the hammer-day reversal (long long shadow and a positive reversal), the more likely the hammer is to hold and the market to rally from that point.
