Sometimes we slide down to the level of those around us. In this case, unfortunately, it's a pretty long slide.

I see plenty of mud to go around Steve. The extremes on both sides of this issue will never be happy because the extremes in this issue are diametriclly opposed. Frankly, I understand both sides and can't muster the energy to argue hard in either direction.

Just don't pretend that the only nastiness comes from the other side. There are good intentioned, contientious,[sic] honorable people on both sides of the issue.
