Josef said about bribing Canada: maybe we give Western Canada an offer they can't refuse - to secede from Canada and join the US. I bet they are sick and tired of the pinko commies in Ontario, the Francophones and the welfare addicted Atlantic provinces. Hey.. theres an Alberta separatist party out there with about 200 members; maybe you and your oil friends can start secretly funding them.. heck... I am sure Bush could send a few bucks too.. Republican administrations seem to have a habit of secretly and publicly funding causes they think are vital to US security.. why break that pattern now? :) Half seriously tho; check opinion polls in Canada.. there isnt much desire for any part of Canada to join the US - in any part of the country.. I think the negative reaction to that question when its been polled has been consistently around 75-85% of not wanting to do that when asked that question every few yrs. Sorry Joe.. you're going to have to do better then that - why not just invade Western Canada and proclaim it part of the US? That would work just as easily.
