I have no problem with The Register when it sticks to factual reporting and unbiased informed opinion, as it does with the M50x's in your post. But whenever they do a piece on Palm vs Psion/Symbian, their UK bias shines through. For example, I'd be surprised to see them publish a negative piece on Symbian like the one you posted from Wired a few posts back:

As for the rumors and leaks on the M50x specs, they seem to be in line with what Palm has been talking about - that future Palm's would all have the SD expansion slot and would provide more color options a la Handspring. I'm don't think the 8MB RAM base memory will be a limitation since the SD slot can provide gobs of memory (as well as I/O capability), and other SD expansion modules will presumably carry their own memory as well. I think the SD expansion slot that Palm intends to put in all its new models, Palm OS4, and the easing of component constraints which will allow more aggressive marketing, are going to be the big drivers this year. I don't see much happening to the stock this month, but I would expect a slew of announcements beginning in March and leading up to earnings, including the Michael Jordan endorsement.

Anyone know when CeBIT starts?
