I believe in pulling the plug, I respect a persons right to determine prior to "needing" it, the choices a "living will" provides. I also believe that the family does have at some point to make a choice if there is no living will. I believe that pulling the plug may or may not end a person's life. Some will survive, there-in lies the question, is that non-human (by your definition of human) being free game to have their life ended, by anyone who wants to?? Some what like an animal being hunted?? Because they are "not aware??"
My point here initially was to point out what I seen as the error in including the word "aware" to define being human. Your logic does not follow.

BTW, I think the term unaware can be applied to a lot more medical conditions than just brain damaged.
