I've gone brain dead ... as if I ever even had access to one .... took me half an hour to transfer a file that I knew how to do and had done many times before ... and now I have another problem ... new machine (built yesterday) .. everything functions fine ... overclocked AMD 380 running at 700+ (NO lectures please..gg) 256 meg RAM WD hd CdRom ... etc ... cable hookup on Nec2000 networking card as I said normal functioning ON CABLE ... I'm frustrated with trying to install a 56k dialup modem ... as I have 2 dialup ISPs to insure I stay hooked up when I have a spoo position open cause a long term hold for me is ten minutes .... anyway ... dialup networking wizard dealie installs the modem fine .. all the properties show functioning fine ... no yellow question marks on the description, nothing looks amiss ... UNTIL I dial .... screen freezes with the mouse also frozen ... control alternate delete does NOT function ... nada ... just frozen ... can't be the modem as I've installed FOUR (4) different ones ... 3 PCI ones and 1 ISA one ... and all of them work in other machines sitting right here .... any ideas ????? HELP lol
