Applied Materials Black Diamond dielectric.

Found this press release, findarticles.com

Now these two quotes are interesting
"The first Black Diamond dielectric film, BD27, is intended for 0.18-micron copper chip designs."

and
"it offers a low-risk and relatively low-cost migration path to low-k copper interconnects."

This makes me wonder if the reports about severe underclocking of Athlons, Athlons operating at abnormally low voltages and the mobile Duron popping up as a product, means that AMD has quietly shifted over to Black Diamond already? On the one hand, it would give them experience with it so that they would not have to go through that learning curve along with all of the other stuff when they go to 0.13 micron.

Hmm, something to think about...
