Hi Mike,

According to the National Bureau of Economic Research, we have had 7 recessions since 1945 averaging about 11 months in duration:

Note that they do not define a recession as 2 consecutive quarters of negative GDP, but as a "period of significant decline in total output, income, employment, and trade" etc.

Thanks to all for continued informative discussions. They have really helped me as an investor. I'll definitely follow you to the "bomb shelter" if needed.
