Remember the logic you apply can also be applied to Bill CLinton's enormous tax increases on the poor. It didn't bother Bill Gates when the gas tax was increased. However that was a huge tax increase on the poor and working class. The same goes for the cigarette tax which discriminates against the poor. During the CLinton years the rich got richer and the poor got poorer with more money going from those who could least afford it to Washington.
The IRS went after a working waitress who earned 10k a year and wanted to fine her 3k for claiming 5 % tips instead of 10% but Mr Rich gets forgiven. The Clinton years were an excess of contributions to trial lawyers and the left wing elite. The only time I heard about the homeless was in the last month leading up to the election
