I don't believe that the tundra "unfreezes". Never the less, I'd want to see some plans from the drillers to minimize spill damage.

Yes, it does unfreeze as you put it.

In various parts of the world oil seepage is natural. Like off the coast of Santa Barbara into the ocean and up on to the beach. So crude may not be as contained as you might think.

Yes, there are places where the crude seeps and guess what, nothing grows there.
