reit wouldn't be smart to gamble on ...?
No ...it is not yet time.
I have a program I subscribe to that I think is good (Vector Vest)...had I listened to them and obeyed last year I would be one grinning lady.
So I'll do as they say, for now (buy low p/e high growth stocks, sell when they say, go short when and what they say, go back long when they say, etc etc and so forth).
When I've once again got a "healthy " portfolio I'll once again have a long term perspective and start buying Qcom and Csco back again....but with enough cash in money market funds so I am not panicked at downturns.
I really INTENDED to be a long term holder but I'm not a believer in watching a portfolio decrease by more than 20% so I need to have a good amount of it in cash, which doesn't do that. Then the stock portion can go ahead and high beta if it has to.
Wow, that was more money than I ever thought I'd have in my entire life. But, I've decided, if I can make it once I can make it again...I'll let you know if it's true!
Best wishes to all of you at the GT.
