Jim, What you don't seem to understand is that people won't make changes that degrade the quality of their lives. It is foolish to try. How much gas and time is wasted because of asynchronous traffic lights? Fixing the traffic lights in big cities would produce a large gas savings, and make people's lives better. There are many other similar solutions. Telecommuting, fast trains, etc... Are you Catholic by any chance? You seem to believe that redemption must be painful. Scumbria
