Robert, Everybody knows computer industry is moving in a fast pace. If any high tech company cannot have a new product for a while, the company is going in trouble. This also applies to MS. Everybody knows Windows OS is there for quite a while. It is almost fully grown or developed. That is why MS delayed Windows 97 to be available not until 1998, because it is more and more difficult to improve. Do you think how many new version can MS have to keep the Company going? By the way every new version makes the software more bulky and easy to crash. In contrary Java is a computer programme language of a new era. The same programme written in Java takes less megabytes than any other programme language. The most important is, it still in a developing stage. That means it has a great potential and if accepted by the public, it will have many years before fully grown. That means it can keep the company going for a while. Same thing apply to the PC. It is getting more and more hard to improve. In contrary, NC is just started and is a computer for a new era. It never has a software problem because the network will look after that. And most important you don't need a lot of training to use it. Anybody can use the computer, this is the way it is going to be. As a investor, I rather invest my money to the company with a great potential, has a future. By the way the main revenue of Corel is still come from Window Operating software: WordPerfect, CorelDraw etc.. but use the money earning from them to invest on NC and Java. So, how can the company go bankruptcy if NC and Java not succeed? I believe no risk, no gain. That is what investment is and I also believe the chance for Corel to succeed is pretty high. The above is my own opinion and thought, hope your guys have patience to read. |
