To all, In a hurry, gotta keep it brief. My overall impression is that there is a lot of competiion out there. I am convinced that park has a good product with benefits to the user (even though the competitors have all the gadgets and more stylish equipment). Mullen knows nuclear, he's been around for a while in this field. Park is trying to provide the customer with what they are going to need, not just hype. There employees have halved in the past 1.5 years. Not effecting product. Employees that have left have said they would come back if a partnership develops.
Benefits of current Park system -- larger field of view, fits hospital beds, would not scare off a claustrophobic person (sp?), translating base- but very stable, competitive pricing, no restricited locations, etc. Clearly the best machine out there from the Docters who use it.
Benefits of future Park MCAT sytem -- same basic system, but with a columner (the "lense" lets say) that doesn't have to be replaced for the different energy levels, and also a larger detection distance. This is a big plus for the user.
If you're worried about the company from a product standpoint--don't. But you have good reason to wonder about there future. Sergio, you hit it on the head, it is critical that they get a strategic partner. They do have backorders and are delivering, but slower than they would like. Some hospitals are waiting to see the outcome of a partnership before they buy anything from anybody-- they really want park, but don't want a non-supportable system. If a partnership doesn't work out, I wouldn't be buying stock hoping for the royalties-- they would probably have to pay the short term loans from there financial investors before us. Mullen seems confident that a partnership will develop, but he doesn't know the outcome of this yet either. So remember, the price could go to zero, and just think of how many hamburgers food that would buy.
So much for being brief, Hoping that the buyers at the hospitals start listening to there doctors and/or a solid partnership develops. doug |
