*OXFORD HEALTH SAYS SEES 2001 TOTAL REVENUES AT $4.4 BLN
CHICAGO, Feb 6 (Reuters) - Oxford Health Plans Inc. expects higher revenues and earnings in 2001, backed by membership growth, Chairman and Chief Executive Norman Payson said on Tuesday.
Speaking to analysts during a conference call, Payson said he expects 2001 earnings of about $2.60 per diluted share, and total revenues of about $4.4 billion.
On Monday the Trumbull, Conn.-based managed-care company posted total revenues of $4.1 billion for 2000. Total revenues includes premium revenues, third-party administration revenues, investment and other income.
Analysts expect the company to earn $2.45 a share in 2001, up from $1.84 in 2000, according to First Call/Thomson Financial, which tracks earnings data. Oxford said it expects a 5 percent increase in commercial membership enrollment this year. Commercial enrollment refers to customers such as private employers. Oxford's total membership as of Dec. 31, 2000, stood at 1.491 million. |
