45,000 analysts can't be wrong! Eat . . . Ooops, sorry, this is a "G" rated thread.

Since most people don't use their OS to surf the net, but use their browser, it looks like you took the wrong risk. Since Netscape has about 70 percent market share, that means 70 percent of the people who browse your site can't take full advantage of it. Of course, I assume you have a link to Microsoft so the 70 percent can download IE if they want. Of course, that takes a boatload of time, and whose going to want to take the time to do it when all they are looking for is some information about a stock? It's much easier just to go find one of the other myriad financial sites which are optimized for Netscape or for both browsers. You can't use your Regimodel 2000 at those sites, you say? Well, you know my response to that.

Personally, I prefer imports like Toyota or Honda. And I prefer my browsers the way I like my cars: reliable.
Face it Reg, all your web site Active-X gimmicks and pontificating can't change the fact that, after 2 years, Microsoft's browser still only has less than 30 percent market share.
Oh, and one more thing:
Netscape releases Communicator at its DevCon ( merc.com ), which I guess is another browser your pages can't handle. Now, wouldn't it be something if Netscape could "lap" Microsoft by releasing Navigator 5.0 beta before Microsoft could get 4.0 out the door? |
